Me.
Hi. I’m an experienced, professional English drummer living near Aarhus, Denmark. I can work anywhere.
I’m often found playing drums for London-based alt.rock act The Little Unsaid but I’m also into working with any artist or band with a love of songwriting where there’s a strong artistic connection. I’m still waiting for Nick Cave, Thom Yorke or Kate Bush to call.
I love playing what a song requires - not a barrage of technical chops to impress. Playing in The Little Unsaid requires a very dynamic feel - but responding to what’s happening around me in the moment, in a live setting or studio is a strength. I come up with more unusual ideas where required - often using a percussive approach rather than resorting to anything too standard - but groove and FEEL in whatever time signature is what matters to most songwriters I work with.
I’ve recorded and toured extensively and love both equally. (I’m also pretty handy at setting up a merch stand and LOVE audience connection!). Have performed at the UK’s Glastonbury Festival four times among others.
While you can get a flavour of my playing on the video page, just to say here I use a Roland SPDSX to blend sampled percussion or musical parts if needed. Totally fine playing to click.
I also play bass, bass synth and can sing backing vocals. I take a lot of photos and seem to get followed home a lot by cats. (No bad thing, although the ratio of cats to drums on my Insta page is embarrassing).
Having played in many situations over the years, I’ve come to realise that good relationships in a band and connection as people is probably 90% of what’s needed.
